I offer an array of art workshops for individuals, groups, and organizations. I have a true passion for teaching and enjoy meeting new people through the art workshops. Participants in all beading workshops will learn the basics of beading as well as its history in Yukon, Alaska, and British Columbia.
Beaded Keychains
This workshop is perfect for beginner beaders. Participants will gain the skills necessary to make a melton keychain using seed beads and accenting the work with a freshwater pearl or abalone button. All supplies are included. This workshop requires a minimum of 5 participants and a max of 20. In-person workshops are 4 hours in duration; online is 2-4 hours.
Salmon Keychains
This workshop was designed for intermediate beaders. Participants will learn to bead a salmon pattern and walk away with a keychain. All supplies are included. This workshop requires a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 15. In-person workshops are 4-5 hours in duration; online is 3-4 hours.
Melton Pouch
This workshop is great for both adults and youth. Participants will learn to cut melton, design and bead the back, and bead the edge to create a useable pouch. All supplies are included. This workshop requires a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 15. In-person workshops are 4-5 hours in duration; online is 3-4 hours.
Beaded Earrings
This workshop is great for beginner and intermediate beaders, it’s even a challenge for experienced beaders! Participants will create a set of beaded fringe earrings to take home and wear. All supplies included. This workshop requires a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 20. In-person workshops are 4-6 hours in duration; online is 3-4 hours.
Flying Ravens
This workshop is designed for children! Participants will discuss what Raven means to them while creating colourful cardboard Raven cut-outs. All supplies included. This workshop requires a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 20. In-person workshops are 1-2 hours in duration; online is 45 minutes - 1 hour.
Body Mapping Social Justice
This workshop is perfect for university classes and conferences. Participants will work together to identify societal struggles, the people most affected by a societal threat, and how society can overcome through activism. Participants will draw and add artwork onto previously traced body forms relating to our social justice topic. All supplies included. This workshop requires a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 10. In-person workshops are 1-2 hours in duration; online is not available.
Drop-In Beading Workshop
This workshop is perfect for attracting an informal, passing-by audience. Pariticpants are welcome to drop-in for a basic beading workshop which focuses on developing the technique rather than creating a particular design. All supplies included. This workshop requires 4 horus per drop-in session. (Currently not available during COVID-19).
